Grand Opening

On December 8, 2008, St. Joseph Medical Center ushered in a new era in health care delivery with the opening of the new main entrance, lobby and Heart Institute at the front of the hospital.

The campus expansion constructed by Whiting-Turner Contracting and designed by CSD Architects, encompasses 110,000 square feet, and represents a breakthrough in redefining the patient and visitor experience. The new building provides a peaceful, beautiful setting, offering comfort and convenience in a healing environment.

Cornerstone procession: representatives from nursing, physicians, the Sisters of St. Francis and many others walked in a procession and added an item to the cornerstone box to be buried on the campus.
